Passacaglia

Tilde is still making (and enjoying) the blocks inspired by Lucy Boston's Passacaglia patchwork.

She is using the 6" LeMoyne star collection, and the blocks finish at 12"

These blocks can also be made with the free collection. They will then end up 9" square.

Octagons ...

Martha too has found inspiration in "The Patchworks of Lucy Boston" and has started her own version of the Keyboard Patchwork, using hand-dyed fabrics from many sources.
She writes :

I am not sure where I am going with this but it is lovely to put together.

GFG-block

And a third project from Missy's hand.
She writes :

The Grandmother's Flower Garden Block was made with the .5" Hexagon collection and measures 8 inches with the narrow strips of about 1/4 inch.

I made this as part of a group quilt for a friend with cancer. I finished it about a week ago.

Hexagon Placemat

Another beauty, made from the pattern that comes with the 0.5" hexagon collection.

Missy writes :

The place mat was made with the .5" Hexagon collection, instructions are in the collection. It was my first Inklingo project and got me thoroughly hooked! I can't remember for sure when I made it ... probably 2007.

Finished size : 13.5 x 18.5"

Texas Stars

Missy has been making a Texas Star quilt.

She writes :

I made the Texas Star from Collection 1; I started it last fall to work on while traveling by plane.

I pieced happily through all the boring parts of the seminar I attended. I finished it in June 2009 and it measures 61"x73.5"

Cathi's Inklingo Star

Cathi is making stars using the shapes in the Inklingo Lite #5 collection.

As soon as she saw the long skinny triangles that are part of that collection, she immediately knew she had to make these blocks. It will be a small doll's or teddy bear's quilt.

Harpsichord Quilt

Cathi is making what she's calling the Harpsichord Quilt, inspired by the Lucy Boston Keyboard Patchwork and by harpsichords she saw a year ago.

The shapes for this block are from the Inklingo KISS 103 collection.

Dakota Delights

Jillian is making this wall-hanging from her own pattern.

She writes :

This is made with 1" hexagons. Unfinished size is 18 x 19". I'm planning on embroidering on the butterfly antennae and perhaps do some bead / crystal embellishments.

This may look familiar to some of you as I did it as a kit for the Great Inklingo Give-Away. When I printed the hexes for the kit, I did a set for myself too. I'm thinking I'm going to try this with the 0.5" hexagon collection next.

Well ... "we" are still making Patchwork of the Crosses blocks, and here are Maryam's latests. Did I tell you that she's making them on her machine, and not by hand ?

Well ... she is.

Pilamaya

Mary Ellen made this wonderful wall-hanging, using the Free Collection. She writes :

I finished a 25" square wall-hanging this morning. I hand pieced and hand quilted the diamonds from the Free Collection, and used the four sacred colours of the Lakota tribes : white, black, red and yellow.

I'm calling it "Pilamaya" which means "thank you" in Lakota.

Pilamaya will be sent to the tour guide who recently accompanied a group of senior citizens to some of the western US states.











... all I can say is "Lucky Tour guide" :-)

Tiny Tote exchange

We have another happy receiver of a Tiny Tote from the exchange at the Inklingo Yahoo-group.
This one is made by Rae Ann for Penny, using Japanese fabrics.

Road to Oklahoma

Kiwi has been testing Inklingo, using the free collection (but the block could be made with Collection # 2 too) . She writes :

The block is about 5.75" square. The fabrics I am using aren't the best but good enough for practice! :-) I need lots of practice!!

Well ... I think your block looks good, Kiwi !

Another Tiny Tote

Flowerbasket table-runner

And Jeanette has been busy, and have also finished a table-runner made from the pattern that Tilde has made available for free on the Inklingo Yahoo group.

She writes :

I used Tilde's basket block to make a table runner using 0.75 hexes from Collection 3. It measures approximately 32"x16" at the widest point.It is hand pieced and hand quilted.

LeMoyne star quilt

... with an Apple Core border. How cool is that :-)

Jeanette writes :
I used the free Lemoyne star and put 12 redwork flower blocks among the stars.When Linda brought out the apple core block I knew it was perfect for the border.

It is hand pieced and machine quilted and measures 60"x46"

Another sort of Lucy Boston style quilt

Tilde is having a ball making this style of block from a picture in "The Patchworks of Lucy Boston".

She is using the 6" LeMoyne star collection and the blocks finish at 12".
It is, however, possible to make the blocks with the free collection. They will then finish at 9"

In the book, this quilt is called "Passacaglia"
