Pies and Tarts
Fussy-printed Pies and Tarts wedges.
And a finished top !
Jeannette from Oz has been busy (again!) and made this beauty for all of us to make a fuss about.
Click on the small pictures on the left to get a larger one. They are worth it.
Jeannette writes :
I'm sending pictures of my Pie and Tarts quilt. It's all hand pieced except for the border, I sewed that on by machine.
The half Tarts around the edge ar all pieced in the same fabric as the border to give a scalloped look. I'm also showing a few fussy-cut blocks and a closeup of the border.
The quilt measures 82 x 96".
... now all I have to do is quilt the thing LOL.
Wishing you luck on the quilting, Jeannette, while the rest of us are quietly drooling over your top.

Absolutely stunning! Love the fussy cut pieces. :) Thank you for sharing with us.
Oh my gosh!!!!! I am DROOOOOOLING!!!!!!! I am in the process of putting this quilt together. I made a mistake and sewed all the pie and tart shapes and am having a real difficult time putting them into the surrounding frame. Am now in the process of frogging them so I can put them together row by row. If you have any tips for me...I would be forever grateful. Your quilt is lucious!!!!! Thanks for sharing.......Sandi
High Sandi.I found the easiest way to put the blocks together was to work with 4 at a time.I made all my pies and tarts first. Then I put the background on each pie.Next I sewed 4 pies together and put 1 tart in the middle.I did that until There was none left.A tip is leave 1 seam open and sew in the tart and then sew the last seam together.I then sewed 2 big blocks together and added another tart.If you do it that way there is inly 2 seams to sew each time.I also divide my quilts into 4 and work on a quarter of a qiult at one time and then join the 4 pieces together.I hope this helps. Jeannette
